The weekend before last, we spent the afternoon at our local park where they had Old Irons Days. All the local crafters were there. The kids enjoy seeing the old fashioned skills. Well my oldest just goes to hang out with friends but it gives me a chance to see what it was like way back when.
One of these days I will have one of these! Do you know what it is?
As I was think how cool it would be to have a homemade broom, my littlest was saying, " I wonder if you can fly on those?" Great.....
I am glad we no longer have to travel in a wagon but its nice to still have them around for hayrides and such, LOL!

Homemaker's Challenge #1

I am participating in the HomeMaker's Challenge that Amy B is hosting. Our first challenge was to make a cupcake that reflects ourself. Well I decided to make Chocolate Apple cupcakes using a recipe that Krystal has on her website. I revamped it so that it was healthier for us and also so that my daughter could have it too. Tonight was her birthday party so I didn't get to make them all "fancified" but I did remember to take a picture.

- Apples - they are good for you so......it means you can eat them without feeling guilty right?
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. each baking soda, salt, cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice
2 eggs
1/2 c of melted butter
1/4 c. applesauce
Mix all the dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients and mix well. Batter will be stiff. Bake at 350.

I don't think I posted the kids' school pictures yet. My oldest is a Freshman this year and my youngest is in 2nd grade. My daughter is special needs but she would have been in 6th grade.

I am going to try to catch up with everyone so that I can finish by December 31. I hope I don't overload you!
If you remember I kind of have an obsession with jars, perferably the blue glass jars. Well the other day I was at the store and saw a gallon size Ball jar! My grandma suprised me with one!! I filled it with sucanat and it sits on my counter (for now... its really big!)
Just to show you how big it really is, I put a pint sized jar in front of it.
I found this Coffee jar at the antique mall... Love it!!
My MIL had these jars and I promised to give them back with something special in them for Christmas
I will use these for Christmas gifts also.
