I am not sure where last week went. It started out busy and ended busy. I barely had time to pick up my camera (which I hate) and I was sitting at the computer pounding out my homework as the clock ticked down to midnight last night. This week is not looking better. We are under a huge winter storm watch. They are predicting 2-3 inches of ice with 4-7 inches of snow on top. I have my list of things to gather in case of power outages. The problem is our generator won't start. My husband worked on it yesterday but had to replace the starter in our only four wheel drive vehicle. He is on the road crew so he needs that vehicle for work. Anyway, here is my week in one post. Hopefully you will hear from me this week. If not please say a prayer that we survive the storm. (Yes the dvd players and hand held games are charging, LOL!!!)

Little man (as he asked to be called) has started Upward basketball. His big brother has been playing basketball for many years now and it is finally his turn to start. He has been really excited and even informed me that he wants me to just drop him off at practice like I do his brother. This coming from a child who wants me to stay when he goes to a friends house to play!

The lighting in the gym was horrible and I didn't want to distract the boys by using my flash!



Nothing like using your whole body to pass, cheeks included, LOL!!

On another note, we woke up to 4 inches of snow this morning, with more coming down. Sorry Tracy, I have to work with what I have, especially when I can't get out of my driveway!!

Ok, I really wanted to do the upside down challenge at the park. I was going to hang upside down from the jungle gym and take a picture of my son going down the slide. However, its winter here, it snowed here, it's freezing here!

My second idea was to take a picture of my favorite tree, turning the camera upside down, with a sunburst from the morning sun. So.... I bundled up and went out this morning to get "the shot". It is -1 this morning. My hands started going numb.... its hard to find the button when your camera is upside down and even harder when your hands are frozen!! I settled for this shot!



Might have to try this technique again in the summer!! ;-)

The lonely sled




I don't mind the cold so much when we have snow. To me if its cold it needs to have a reason for it... snow! It has been really cold here this week but sunny. So the poor sled has been propped against the house, neglected!

In case if you were wondering, the movie my son has been watching was Pirates of the Caribbean. He watched all three multiple times. We don't do things half way here in Missouri, just kidding. Also the tractor picture was taken because it refuses to run properly for longer than 20 minutes. My brother wanted pictures to look up models online. Well I can't take just regular pictures, had to throw in ones with character!

Ok the tower is up. We went ahead and hired a guy who had the right tools to install it. This meant I got to stay on the ground and take pictures instead of being on the roof as the assistant. Yes, I was very happy about that. This is a picture from the front of our house. The guy acted like it was no big deal up there and it was not a calm evening, the wind was blowing a bit. Kind of made my dizzy just watching him. We have been teased about putting a light on the top to warn off low flying planes, LOL!!

By the time I get home from the ball game tonight, I should have fast internet, whoo hoo!!

Book Review

The Gospel According to Jesus by Chris Seay

(This is my first book review ever, so bear with me) 

I received this book from Book Sneeze quite a while ago and I just now finished it. It took me a while to read but it was very interesting. The basis of the book is that we really don't grasp what true righteousness is in the way the Bible meant it and the way Jesus lived it. The author did a study asking people what does righteousness mean. He was very surprised at the answer. The book has interviews at the end of each chapter that discuss each concept with other church leaders. I felt a little lost with this book however it did leave some food for thought.

We are trying to get faster internet out here. Where we live we have what is called extended high speed; basically we are a little too far to get DSL. Its crazy because the house we moved from is less than three miles from here. Sooo.... we have found a company that is local but we have to extend our antenna tower another 20 feet..... on top of the 50 feet we all ready have.
